YOU HAVE THINGS WORTH SAYING

So why does it feel so hard to say them?

You sit down to write a post, a newsletter, a Substack piece. You have the time. You have the coffee. You have every intention.

And then: nothing.

You type something. Delete it. Type it again. Question your entire business. Close the laptop.

Or perhaps you do write — consistently, dutifully — but the posts are fine without quite landing. They get likes. Occasionally comments.

But they’re not bringing the right people into your world. They’re not making anyone feel the thing you want them to feel.

Here is what I know after years of working with brilliant business owners on their content.

This is not a writing problem. It is not a discipline problem or a creativity problem.

It is a story problem.

And story problems have a solution.

Welcome to Actually in Wonderland.

“The structure and process Sara shared throughout Actually in Wonderland finally enabled me to see the golden thread that tied my life experience together. I’ve resisted writing my story for three years. This is what finally made it possible — and now I think there might be enough for a book.”

HELEN CONNOLLY

YOUR IDEAL CLIENT IS DROWNING IN CONTENT

Books piled, unread, on her desk.

The never ending pings as messages arrive on WhatsApp or in her inbox.

The hours upon hours of scrolling and saving TikTok videos that she will never watch again.

Countless Insta reels of places she’ll never visit and images of quotes she’ll never use.

Your ideal client is drowning in content.

Most of it simply clogs up her phone and makes her feel vaguely lacking.

What she is missing is the feeling of connection: of being genuinely understood by someone who has something real to say.

Story is how you create that feeling. Because sharing stories is how human beings have always built connection. Sharing stories is how we say: I see you. I understand something about your experience. You can trust me.

When you find your stories and learn how to use them, something shifts. In your posts and emails. In how you talk about your work in a networking conversation. In how you open a sales call. In the moment when someone who has followed you for months finally sends a message saying: I don’t know what it was about that post, but it’s like you were inside my head. I just knew I needed to get in touch.

That moment is available to you.

Actually® in Wonderland will help you get there.

“I have been using ideas from the sessions to influence my social media posts — sharing my values, principles and ideas — and I am seeing significantly more engagement. So folks, I can say: IT’S BL**DY WORKING.”

LIN CHEUNG

IS THIS FOR YOU?

Actually® in Wonderland is for you if:

  • You sit down to write content and your mind goes blank
  • You know you have things worth saying but cannot find the way to say them
  • You want to blog, use Substack, or show up on social media — but you feel like you don’t have the stories to draw on
  • You’ve been told you should be “telling your story” in your marketing but nobody has ever actually helped you find it
  • Your content is consistent but not connecting — posts that are fine without quite landing
  • You are a purpose-led business owner who wants your marketing to sound like you, not like everyone else in your field

“I’ve never been great at sharing personal stories. But today, I found your framework brilliant to follow – and now sharing my story doesn’t seem so intrusive.”

JANE D.

WHAT IS ACTUALLY® IN WONDERLAND?

Actually® in Wonderland is a six-week storytelling programme built around the characters of Wonderland each one the key to unlocking a different type of story you need in your business. This is not a course about the theory of storytelling. It is the actual work of identifying what your stories are, writing them, and putting them somewhere real.

By the end of the programme you will have:

  • Identified the six types of stories every business needs — and mapped your own
  • Written your origin story
  • Found and drafted your teaching stories
  • Learnt how to make any story memorable, not just competent
  • Built a story bank you can draw on for years
  • Deployed at least one story somewhere real — posted, published, sent

And you will have done all of this in a small, supported, intimate cohort of people who are on the same journey.

WHAT’s included:

The Actually in Wonderland programme runs over six weeks – with a grand finale in week 7 – the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party.

5

BETA TRIAL BONUS: A 121 call with Sara to discuss your stories and questions or whatever you’ll find most useful (to be booked during the programme)

“Can you please ensure future courses are less interesting and engaging? I would much rather stay and listen to you than work, which is a most terrible predicament. So please make your courses boring, stop being so wonderfully insightful, stop telling fabulous stories and stop teaching us so much — and then I won’t have FOMO.”

THE PROGRAMME

Session 1: The White Rabbit - Tuesday 2 June, 1pm

Why stories matter and how to find yours.

The White Rabbit is always running — always busy, always behind, never quite where he needs to be. Sound familiar? This session is about stopping long enough to find what you actually have.

We cover why stories work (the science and the business case), the six types of stories every business needs, and — crucially — where each one belongs in your marketing. Not just “here are the types” but “this story goes on your about page, this one belongs in your sales conversation, this one is your social media content for the next six months.”

You’ll do a story audit and begin mapping your own stories against the six types.

Assignment: identify one story from each category. Even rough notes count.

Session 2: The Cheshire Cat - Tuesday 9 June, 1pm

Your origin story and your ‘who I am’ stories.

The Cheshire Cat keeps appearing and disappearing — her identity is slippery, her grin floating free of context. The lesson: your audience needs to see you clearly. If you keep disappearing or showing up inconsistently, they cannot connect with you.

We cover what an origin story actually is and why it matters, how to find yours using the passion and ignition exercise, and the difference between your ‘who I am’ story and your ‘why I am here’ story. You will draft your origin story in the session itself — and leave with a first version you can actually use.

Assignment: complete and polish your origin story to a shareable length.

Session 3: The Queen of Hearts - Tuesday 16 June, 1pm

Making stories stick.

The Queen of Hearts is all about rules, authority and making people pay attention. This session is about the framework that separates stories people remember from stories they forget — and about the teaching stories that purpose-led businesses need more than most.

We cover the SUCCESs framework with real business examples for each element, what teaching stories are and how to find yours, and how to distil the core message of any story down to its sharpest, most usable form.

Assignment: identify your teaching story and write the first draft.

Down the Rabbit Hole: Co-Working Session, Tuesday 23 June, 10am to 2pm

A structured, supported writing session on Zoom.

This is the session people always ask for and rarely get: time, accountability, and direct support to actually do the work.

You will open with a warm-up exercise, then move into structured writing sprints with prompts from me. You will have time to work on whichever story feels most urgent — and the option to book into a breakout room for direct time with me if you need it. We close with shares — who wants to read theirs out?

No new teaching. Just the work getting done.

Session 4: The Mad Hatter, Tuesday 30 June, 1pm

Capturing and keeping interest — and putting your stories to work.

The Mad Hatter is chaotic, surprising, full of unexpected turns. This session is about the craft of holding attention — and then specifically about where your stories go in your business.

We cover how to open a story so people cannot look away, how to keep them reading through loops and tension and open questions, and the practical business application of every story type — which stories work on which social platforms, how stories function in email sequences and newsletters, where your origin story lives on your website, how to use a teaching story in a sales conversation or on a podcast.

Assignment: take one of your stories and deploy it somewhere real. Post it. Send it. Publish it.

Session 5: Alice, Tuesday 7 July, 1pm

Your client stories, your vision stories, and your story bank.

Alice is the one who goes on the journey, collects the experiences, and comes home changed. This final session is about gathering everything up and turning it into something you can draw on for years.

We cover how to gather and tell client transformation stories ethically and compellingly, how to articulate your vision story — the world you are building and why it matters — and how to build a simple story bank so you are never starting from scratch again. You will leave with a story plan for the next 90 days and a clear brief for what to bring to the Tea Party.

Assignment: bring one story to the Tea Party to share.

The Mad Hatter's Tea Party, Tuesday 14 July, London. Afternoon into evening.

The finale.

In person, in London, you will share a story you have written during the programme. Not perform it. Not present it. Share it — in a room full of people who have been on the same journey, who understand what it took to find it and write it, and who are genuinely rooting for you.

We will celebrate what you have built. We will reflect on the six weeks. And we will gather our thoughts on what comes next.

This is the moment where the whole thing becomes real — because you have written it, shaped it, and now you are going to tell it out loud.

Details of venue and timings will be shared with participants closer to the date.

ABOUT THE BETA TRIAL

This is the first time Actually® in Wonderland has run as a paid programme, which means two things.

First: the price is significantly lower than it will be when the programme runs in full. When it does, the price will reflect the full value of what is delivered.

Second: as a beta participant, your feedback matters. At the Tea Party and in the weeks following, I will be asking you to share honestly what worked, what could be better, and what you would tell someone considering joining the next cohort. Your input will shape everything that comes after.

Ten places. This is a beta trial programme and small is genuinely the point. Small enough that  the co-writing session feels like a room rather than a crowd. Small enough that the Tea Party feels like a gathering of people who have actually been on a journey together.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

When are the sessions and what time do they run?

All five teaching sessions are on Tuesday lunchtimes from 1pm to 2.30pm on Zoom. The dates are: 3 June, 10 June, 17 June, 1 July and 8 July. The co-working session is Tuesday 23 June from 10am to 2pm. The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party is Tuesday 14 July in London — full details including venue and timings will be shared with participants closer to the date.

    Will sessions be recorded?

Yes. All teaching sessions will be recorded and shared with participants, so if you cannot make a session live you will not miss the content. That said, the live sessions — and particularly the co-working session — are where a lot of the real work and connection happens, so we encourage you to attend as many as possible in person.

What is the beta trial and why does it matter?

This is the first time Actually in Wonderland has run as a paid programme. The beta trial price of £250 +VAT reflects that — it is significantly lower than the full programme price will be in future cohorts. In return, beta participants are asked to engage fully and share honest feedback at the end, which will shape the development of the programme going forward.

How much time will I need outside the sessions?

Each session comes with an assignment — typically a piece of writing to complete before the next session. You should allow one to two hours per week for this, plus any additional writing time you choose to take. The co-working session on 23 June is designed to help you catch up and consolidate if needed.

What do I need to bring or prepare?

Nothing in advance of Session 1. You will be sent a welcome note and a short warm-up prompt before the programme begins — just something to get you thinking. Everything else is provided during the sessions themselves.

Is the Mad Hatter's Tea Party included in the price?

Yes. The Tea Party is included in the £250 +VAT programme fee. Travel to London is not included.

What if I have questions before I book?

Drop us a message at talk@actually.world and we will get back to you.

What are the terms and conditions?
