In the Five Steps to Speaking Up programme, you will learn the basics and get ready to speak up – from getting really clear about your purpose to developing the right positioning.

Each bite-sized module is designed as a stand alone unit of self-guided study but we recommend that you start with PURPOSE and then do the PEOPLE module but the others can be done in any order.

In each module there is a video, a worksheet and some suggested resources.

Together, these steps make up a mini self-guided programme in the basics of communications & publicity know-how. They are the foundations that will help you to feel more confident about speaking up on social media or in traditional media with authority and inspiration.

#1 – Purpose
Get clear about your vision and the difference you are here to make.In this module we share with you the Actually process for uncovering and explaining purpose.
#2 – Priorities

Choosing the right channel for your message depends in large part on what you’re trying to achieve. Get clear on your priorities before you make a costly mistake. In this step we help you to establish what your priorities are based on where you are in the life-cycle of your organisation and what you need to achieve.

#3 – Principles

Your guiding principles should inform every aspect of your communications and your decision making. In this step we help you to identify your guiding principles (and how to avoid the wrong ones!) and explain how to use them.

#4 – People

The basis of all great communications is to know and understand the people you are communicating with. In this module, we look at the Actually process for understanding your customers so you can communicate with them easily and effectively.

#5 – Positioning

Craft the perfect positioning as the basis for your content: from your elevator pitch to your website. In this step we guide you through the development of your positioning using a simple template that we have used with hundreds if not thousands of clients.
